Safety and scope
Useful within clear limits
Nestoa is designed to help with day-to-day decisions about caring for an older family member while recognizing situations that need emergency services or qualified professionals.
Nestoa is not emergency care
If someone may be in immediate danger, call local emergency services. In the United States or Canada, call 911. If you or someone else is in suicidal or emotional crisis in the United States or Canada, call or text 988. Do not wait for an app response.
Nestoa does not diagnose or determine capacity
The app may help you prepare observations and questions for a professional. It does not diagnose dementia, prescribe treatment, assess legal capacity, investigate abuse, or tell you that a person is safe.
Urgent danger comes before ordinary guidance
If what you write suggests immediate danger, abuse, self-harm, a medication emergency, wandering, or severe confusion, Nestoa pauses the usual flow and shows immediate next steps.
Uncertainty stays visible
Nestoa shows what came from you, asks you to confirm uncertain details, and says plainly what it cannot know. It avoids guarantees and encourages professional confirmation when the consequences are significant.
