About Nestoa
Built inside the problem, with respect for its limits
We created Nestoa because families need more than information and less than another institution: practical help with the next difficult decision.
Why us
Through her clinical work, Olea Ahmann, a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, has spent years helping older adults and family caregivers work through guilt, conflict, role changes, and difficult decisions. Therapy and Nestoa remain strictly separate: no client information is used to build, train, or personalize the product.
David Ahmann is a technical founder and builder. He leads product engineering, AI systems, privacy architecture, and the work of turning guidance into a reliable consumer product.
We have been married for 25 years and have built other business projects together. We also support parents in their seventies ourselves: Olea’s parents are in Toronto; David’s are in Kazakhstan. We know both the close-by version of family care and the remote version where every uncertainty crosses time zones.
What we believe
- Most decisions about caring for family do not have a morally clean option.
- Protecting autonomy and taking safety seriously are not opposites.
- Useful support should make uncertainty visible, not hide it behind confidence.
- A person can love their family and still have limits.
- AI should be constrained by product purpose, authored guidance, safety rules, and human accountability.
